FBLA-PBL Headlines  

                          Lead...Achieve...Succeed!

The FBLA mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. Dr. Hamden L. Forkner, head of the Commercial Education Department of the Teachers College of Columbia University, is responsible for developing the FBLA concept in 1937, finally being accepted an official sponsorship of FBLA.

The purpose of FBLA is to provide, as an integral part of the instructional program, additional opportunities for secondary students in business and/or business related field to develop vocational and career supportive competencies and to promote civic and personal responsibilities

Meetings:  3:15 to 4:15 the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month

Club Goals:    

  Develop competent, aggressive business leadership.
  Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work.
  Create more interest in and understanding of the American business enterprise.
  Encourage members in the development of individual projects that contribute to the improvement of home, business, and community.
  Develop character, prepare for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism.
  Encourage and practice efficient money management.
  Assist students in the establishment of occupational goals.
  Facilitate the transition from school to work.

  Field Trip to the New York City Financial District
  Guest Speakers at Meetings
  Canned Food Drive for Needy Families
  Coat Drive for the Homeless
  Volunteer at Soup Kitchens for the Homeless
