The selection of courses for an educational program should be completed with careful thought and study. The information pertaining to the elective courses offered at Eleanor Roosevelt High School will be helpful to you when you select courses for next year and complete your registration form.

THE REGISTRATION AND SCHEDULING PROCESS
When you follow this process, you will have three chances to choose courses:
• During JANUARY and FEBRUARY, your guidance counselor will meet with you individually to review your course selections and register you for the courses you need and want.
• IN MAY, an index card will be issued to you that lists your course requests as they were entered by your guidance counselor. In order to make changes, you must submit the card with corrections indicated (full instructions will follow).
• In EARLY JUNE, another index card will be issued and the same procedure from May applies.
• No schedule changes will be made from the time the JUNE Index cards are collected and processed until the first week of school.
• You will receive your official schedule the first day of school in administrative homeroom. If there is a correction to be made on that schedule the following applies:
Schedule Corrections will only be considered (not automatically made) for students who:
• have obvious data entry errors or other errors made by school employees
• have documented medical conditions that necessitate changes/corrections
• are in a class they have already passed
• are seniors and need a course for graduation
• have failing or non-qualifying grades in summer school
• have not met course prerequisites
Changes/Corrections will not be made for courses that were first choices during registration, alternate choices used during registration, or necessary changes made by the scheduling office.
RESTRICTIONS FOR REGISTRATION AND SCHEDULING
• NO PHONE CALLS or EMAILS will be accepted to register students or make schedule changes/corrections
• All registration materials, forms, and requests go directly to guidance counselors.
• Requests made to the scheduling office will be forwarded to the appropriate counselor without review.
• Proper forms must be filed in order for changes/corrections to be processed.
• Pending review by the scheduling office, not all changes/corrections will be honored
