Books
Reference books are shelved in the reference room which is located next to the library office. Over 3,000 titles are arranged by the Dewey Decimal System. Whenever possible, use the index to locate information within the text.
The main reading room hosts approximately 20,000 books. There are four categories:
Fiction books are books which are not true. They tell a story. They are organized alphabetically by the author's last name. Each book will have a FIC as the top part of the call number. They are located in the left corner of the library.
Short Stories are also fiction books. These items have 2 or more stories in them and have SC as the top part of the call number. They are located in the left corner of the library.
Biographies are books that tell about a person. An individual biography is given the call number 921. These books are in order by subject (the person). Collective biographies have 2 or more people in them and are given the number 920. These books are in order by the author/editor. They are located in the left corner of the library.
Nonfiction books are books of fact. These books are organized according to the Dewey Decimal System.(by number) They are located in 3 corners of the library. |
