Welcome to the Chamber Choir

The Eleanor Roosevelt High School Chamber Choir is the most select of the five choirs at the school.   This choir has received many gold medals and superior ratings at county, state, national, and international festivals.  The Chamber Choir won first place trophies for best Chamber Choir and the grand sweepstakes trophy for the group with the highest score at the Orlando MusicFest. They have performed at national conventions of ACDA  as well as state and division conferences of MENC.  The choir  performed at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., with the Choral Arts Society of Washington (Norman Scribner, Director) in their Ninth Annual Choral Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in 1997.  The choir also performed with Dave Brubeck at the 2000 MENC National Convention in Washington, D.C. The Chamber and Women’s choirs are featured on the CD produced by the Choral Arts Society with highlights from 10 years of tribute performances released this year. The choir has also performed with the Oratorio Society of Washington, and the Washington Chamber Orchestra.  Students from this choir are often selected for the Maryland All-State Choir, the Eastern Division Honor Choirs of the ACDA and MENC.  The Chamber Choir performed at the Maryland Music Educators Convention in 2006. The choir performs extensively at school, community and county functions.  The choir toured Germany in the spring of 1998 and 2000. They will compete at a music festival in Chicago, Illinois in March, 2007.
