The Eleanor Roosevelt High School Women's Choir is an auditioned group of 30 women. The choir is noted for performing contemporary choral repertoire and has received numerous superior ratings and first place trophies at festivals in Toronto, Williamsburg, Va., Mexico City, Orlando and San Francisco. The Women's Choir performed at the national convention of the ACDA in 1995 (along with the Chamber and Gospel Choirs) and with the Choral Arts Society (Norman Scribner, Director) at the Ninth and Fifteenth Annual Choral Tributes to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the John F. Kennedy Center in 1997 and 2003. Many members of this choir are selected to sing in the Maryland All-State Choir and in the county Honors Chorus. The Women's Choir performs at school and community functions and toured Germany in the spring of 1998 and 2000.
