Texture with Collage

Assignment:
Complete a one page journal centering around your portfolio theme.
Include all the usual
(mandatory) elements:
- Good compositon
- Full color
- Meaningful text (NO
PENCIL!)
- Ink drawings &
writing
- Within the page, use
collage as mosiac. The collage areas should NOT show any images that can
be recognized. Rather, cut small interesting pieces of paper and use it
to create interesting texture. Be on the lookout for richly colored paper,
interesting textures, metallic papers, etc. Magazines are a good source,
as well as the metallic foil of some food items. Cut the papers into small,
pleasing shapes that go with your theme or object being worked on. Use them
creatively to enhance areas that need more richness and texture.
This needs to
be much, much more than just "sticking" pieces of paper together.
It needs to be thoughtfully, artfully and carefully done to make it visually
appealing.
