Welcome to Spanish Class. For this class, we will use the textbook, Realidades. You will also need the following materials:
ü 3-ring binder with dividers for the following sections: Comienzos, Clase, Tarea, Vocabulario, Apuntes y Verbos.
ü Paper, # 2 pencil, pen (any color but red or green)
ü Dry erase marker – any color
ü Colored pencils/ markers (for select activities)
ü Spanish/ English dictionary (suggested especially Spanish 2)

Vocabulario y Apuntes Vocabulario y Apuntes
In this class, Srta. Davis will:
Ø Provide an atmosphere conducive for learning to speak and read basic Spanish.
Ø Enhance grammar lessons with activities addressing the culture and geography of Spanish-speaking countries.
Ø Grade students’ progress according to the following scale:
Homework / Class work= 20%
Participation = 15%
Oral Presentations & Projects = 25%
Quizzes & Tests = 40%
Ø Offer opportunities for students to earn extra-credit.
Ø Be available for extra assistance on Tuesdays (3:15 – 4:15 p.m.) and Thursdays (7:45 – 8:15 a.m.).
Students are expected to develop basic Spanish language skills and to treat one another with respect. To accomplish this, students will:
· Come to class prepared to participate and to learn.
· Bring all required materials to class every day.
· Complete assignments on time.
· Follow the classroom rules and procedures.
· Adhere to the Eleanor Roosevelt High School’s Code of Conduct and Honor Code.
